Welcome to
We enjoyed the beaches of Florida so much that we decided to continuing exploring the coastal towns on our way west.  Of course we had to find a fishing pole for Bob....$22 for a nice reel & pole setup from a local pawn shop.

At the next two campgrounds, he found lots of great fishing water both on the Gulf side and intracoastal highway bay.  We had white sand trout for dinner one night.

Now, the strangest site here was watching the Great Blue Herons beg.  Back at home, these huge birds don't let you get too close.  Here, however, one man fishing might have five of them standing in wait, hoping for some of his catch.
Can you see Bob?  (That little dot at the end of the dock is Bob fishing here too.)
Great habitat for egrets and herons here....so why do they beg from the fisherman?
The Blue Angels practice on Tues & Weds mornings at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola.  We tried flying the Desert Storm fighter jet simulator in the museum and walked away with a renewed respect for pilots.
Hurricane Ivan closed some stretches of road on Santa Rosa Island but that doesn't stop people from visiting the beaches.  Kinda looks like a desert, 'eh?
